USB Flash drives data recovery

USB Flash drives: electrical, physical, and logical faults are typical for that storage media type.

Electrical faults: a computer does not recognize the device; an internal voltage stabilizer or chips are broken (usually, there are two chips — the flash memory and its micro controller). If the flash memory chip, on which data are stored, is burnt down, data almost always cannot be recovered (there are some exceptions are possible, but they are rare).

If a flash disk is mechanically damaged, the data usually can be recovered, if the flash memory chip is not damaged.

Incorrect writing (logical errors) can happen due to computer faults, when the device has been improperly removed, or writing cycles have been exceeded for the flash memory chip.

Do not work with files by opening them directly from flash-drives! The program working with the files and OS make a lot of read-write operation with the drive, which is not suited for that. The number of read-write cycles is LIMITED for a flash memory chip!!!

To recover data from a flash drive, we either repair the drive (if possible) by changing its components, or extract the NAND Flash chip and read it into an image file on a special programmer device (our own design). Unfortunately, until that only 10% of the data recovery work has been done. The internal architecture of those drives is such that in thousands of data blocks have to be sequentially rearranged in the image file after reading. Almost each drive model has its own rearrangement algorithm depending on the program the developer burned into the drive controller. To day, more than 10 such algorithms are known. Almost always there are some creativity in that work, as we have to restore some structure elements lost due to the fault (and which are the causes of the fault). This work is similar to that of a restorer, and, although being very time-taking, brings us a true pleasure when successful.

USB Flash drives data recovery prices

Prices are shown as ranges, because it is not always possible to set the final cost immediately.
The work starts only after the initial free diagnosis and when the customer agrees with the cost.

Prices are always reconciled before the start of the work!

It is possible to carry out the work in parts, with partial payment for the work done.

Fault typeCost, €
Logical inconsistency (no need to extract memory chip)250−400
Need to (un)sweat NAND chip 400−600

The cost of shipment is not included into the prices and is to be paid additionally.

Taxes are not included into the prices
